Weekend activities

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there.

This was a busy weekend, but a good one. Saturday I picked up a truckload of mulch at the county forestry department with a truck that I borrowed from a coworker of mine. We ended up dumping most of a full pickup load around our yard. About half of the work was done in the light rain so it wasn't hot like I had expected.

Once the mulch was spread, we cleaned out the truck and got ready to take it back to my coworker. By this time we were watching two other children for some friends of ours so we had plenty of help to clean up the truck. Then I got the idea that we would all take a ride to return the truck. The coworker I borrowed the truck from has several horses so we all went for a visit to see the horses. You will see some of the pictures from our trip.

Sunday was a good day as well. Our Friday night group of friends that we meet with most weeks was leading praise and worship at church. Brian's parents also were able to make it for church. We all went out for lunch at a new restaurant and then home for a short nap before we planted two cherry trees that Brian's parents brought for Jessie. Ready for Monday!!

Riding bikes

Jessie and Noah love to ride their bikes. Jessie just got rid of her training wheels a few weeks ago and now she is a pro. Jessie just drops her bike down on its side when she gets done because she doesn't have a kickstand. We found it funny that Noah learned from big sister and tips over his big wheel when he is done riding!

We went to Lake Shawnee yesterday and rode on the trail around the lake. We probably pedaled about 6 miles before she got tuckered out and I went back and got the van to pick them up. I know there have been a lot of posts today, but we are just trying to get everyone caught up on our family.

First Ballet Class

Jessie started her first ballet lessons this month. Here are some pictures of her getting ready and waiting her turn at the studio. Below is a video of some of what she is learning. (Notice Noah's voice in the background. He was a little more concerned with eating dinner than watching his sister.)

Vacation Bible School

We just finished up Vacation Bible School at our church. The theme was Crocodile Dock and the kids and adults alike had a great time. The kids learned something each day about God; God is with us, God is powerful, God does what he says he'll do, God gives us life and God cares for us. Each night when one of the leaders said one of the above, the kids shouted "Fear Not!" It was a long, tiring week, but a good one.

Rene was one of the co-leaders, she helped organize and keep the whole thing running smoothly. I was responsible for taking pictures of each group and putting a slide show together each night featuring a different group of kids.
